Biography

Hailing from Israel, Amit Avner, chosen as one of the 2014 Forbes’ Top 30 Under 30, got his start in tech early, building a search engine called WittySearch in 1999 at age 14.

Avner went on to earn a degree in Computer Science from The Open University of Israel, which he completed during his time in high school.

Following graduation, Avner served as a networks security and cryptography consultant for the Government of Israel and served as a software developer and architect at an elite development unit in the Israel Defense Forces.

In 2003, Avner created a social note-taking application called Witty Notes.

Avner was also the founder of bWitty / WittySearch a search technology company, and a boutique consulting agency.

In 2009, Avner founded Taykey, an ad-tech startup that enables dynamic media based on what the advertiser’s audience is talking about in the moment.
